Vascular laser - Treatment of angiomas, rosacea, and telangiectasias
Many skin problems manifest as redness due to the presence of abnormal blood vessels visible beneath the skin. There is a strong demand, particularly in aesthetic medicine, for treating these types of skin issues.
Vascular laser treatment is now the preferred option for meeting this demand. This technology significantly reduces redness by utilizing the absorption of light by the hemoglobin present in the unsightly blood vessels visible on the skin of the face and body.
Our equipment at Aesthetic Space clinic
Our nd-YAG laser (Candela Gentle Max Pro) is capable of emitting two lights with different wavelengths of 532 nm and 1064 nm from a specific solid, neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (nd-YAG), allowing for maximum targeted absorption by hemoglobin. Through this absorption, light energy is transformed into heat, causing a sudden and brief increase in temperature specifically within the local blood vessels. This ultimately leads to blood clotting, the local cessation of blood flow, and the permanent occlusion of the vessel (the principle of photocoagulation).
This effect allows for the permanent treatment of:
vessels on the face and décolleté (couperose, rosacea)
vessels on the legs (varicose veins)
angiomas, cherry angiomas, and hematomas
It can also be used for:
hair removal on dark skin
facial and décolleté rejuvenation
The advantages of modern laser technology:
Speed: different areas can be treated in minutes
Comfort: thanks to the cooling system, the treatment is virtually painless
Longevity: lasting results
Versatility: effective on most types of lesions
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NECESSARY?
The number of treatments varies from patient to patient and depends on:
The number of spider veins
Their size and branching
Your skin's response to the treatments
Typically, two to three sessions are needed, spaced about 6 weeks apart. If you would like a personalized consultation, schedule an appointment at our clinic in Lausanne.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TREATMENT?
Side effects can occur with any medical or cosmetic treatment, and this includes the removal of spider veins. Possible side effects include:
Redness and swelling in the treated area
Minor bruising and crusting
Temporary pigmentation changes
Rare cases of overheating or blistering. At Aesthetic Space Clinic in Lausanne, we use state-of-the-art lasers with integrated cooling systems to minimize these risks.Spider veins treatment
WHAT EXACTLY ARE SPIDER VEINS, AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER FROM VARICOSE VEINS?
Spider veins are typically small, superficial blood vessels that appear as branched patterns or fine lines on the skin. They often occur on the legs and range in color from reddish to bluish. In contrast, varicose veins are much larger, more prominent, and can sometimes even be painful. Spider veins are usually harmless and primarily a cosmetic concern.
Do you have spider veins? Fortunately, today there are effective treatment options. At Aesthetic Space Clinic we use the method that is both highly effective and gentle on the skin - the Candela GentleMax Pro laser, which is becoming increasingly popular alongside the traditional sclerotherapy.
Removing Spider Veins with a Modern Laser
Spider veins are delicate, dilated blood vessels that shimmer through the skin. Medically, they are usually harmlesseven though they can be quite visually bothersome. With modern lasers, we can additionally treat pigmentation disorders, acne scars, and sagging skin, significantly improving the overall appearance of the skinwithout damaging the surrounding tissue! Treatment at our clinic in Lausanne is quick, nearly painless, and typically involves no downtime.
How the Treatment Works
We treat the fine veins with precisely targeted laser pulses. The laser energy is absorbed by the hemoglobin (red blood pigment) and converted into heat. This heat destroys the vessels, which are then naturally broken down by the body's metabolism. It's simple yet highly effective.
